In 2014, the CD label Capriccio released a portrait CD with works created between 2005 and 2011:

The harmonic structure of the pieces from those years remains largely similar. I called it "a celebration of the delay of time," spoke of "exploring what is heard/ Ausloten des Erklingenden," of "growing into the passing of time/ Hineinwuchern in die vergehende Zeit," and of "animated standstill," which creates "slowness and precision." "Music, and indeed all art," has "this power to make being in the moment tangible, to immerse oneself in another temporal plane within a time that exists outside of it.

My aim wasn't to conjure up idyllic oases. Rather, it was to illuminate a moment from a variety of perspectives, to hear it anew through composition, and thus to experience it as intensely as possible. This 'moment' can be noisy, beyond any tranquility..."

I also found confirmation and inspiration in the Mexican poet and essayist Octavio Paz. His lines inThe Labyrinth of Solitude fascinated me:

"At noon, everything, life like the sun, pauses for a moment and hesitates, wondering whether progress is worth the effort. In such a moment of standstill, which is also dizzying..." something unheard of was about to happen...
